The 9 book is the result of a collaborative process of six different artists from Finland and Sweden. The book combines text and image but only hints at narrative. It gives 5 points of view on the same 9 sentences. The collectively created sentences have inspired the artists to make pictures: elaborate pencil drawings, conceptual miniature pictures and anarchistic collages, pictures of Briditte Bardot, business men and passionate wrestlers in the woods.
Elina Minn, Anna Virtanen and Ami Lindholm are illustrators and animators working in Finland, also known as the Tuhru collective (www.tuhru.net). The Swedish artists consist of animation director Malin Rosenqvist (www.powpow.se) and collage team Alex Brixel and Teresa Mattas.
